How Modern Innovations have Dramatically Improved Church Attendance

Churches haves started to make innovations on how services are conducted to increase church attendance. A gradual decline in the number of churchgoers has become evident lately since people are more prone to spend their time in social activities than church attendance. In order to address the dwindling number of church members, churches have started to implement improvements through music which is not the familiar kind of church music that you have been accustomed to but contemporary music influenced by the popular sounds of today.

One notable feature of Contemporary Church service is the worship leader himself who is usually a singer or musician who has the ability to lead the congregation in singing the contemporary worship. Instruments like electric guitars and drums which are more synonymous to rock culture are used to make a lively service that cannot be called boring. Some may be critical of this form of contemporary service which they consider as more of an entertainment than worship but based on studies, this contemporary worship service has generated more attendance especially among the youth who are encouraged by the modern music.

Music is something that everyone appreciates and the popular music that has been part of the innovations made by Contemporary Church has dramatically increased the number of young members. The youth are particularly attached to modern music and this innovation has enhanced spiritual vitality and rekindling of faith. The bands have a particular attraction for the youth as they use non-traditional instruments during the services which are more fitting for rock and roll than church music. This kind of contemporary music, the youth can easily identify with and so with adults who have particular fondness for more modern music.

Not only do the churchgoers feel entertained but they no longer have to endure the monotonous sermons and preaching. The services can be called anything but boring and this has certainly succeeded in gaining an increase in church membership because the innovations are up to date and in line with the current trends of music. The traditional church choir has been replaced with performing bands composed of the youth in the community. If not for anything else, these has encouraged most of the youth to become church members instead of succumbing to the evils of society like drug addiction and alcoholism.

Another innovation that churches have made is to use modern technology to improve communication with their congregation. Internet has provided them with an opportunity with which to inform members of the events and activities that are planned by the church. This is easily done through emails and newsletters similar to a marketing tool used by most businesses in gaining potential consumers.

This modern innovation has sparked a sudden interest for contemporary worship services since a greater majority of people are active users of the devices provided by modern technology. As a whole churches have seen the impact of their innovations in growth of their membership as they are able to reach a greater majority with carefully designed websites and the inclusion of popular music in their worship services.

An informal setting is evidently present in contemporary churches which is further enhanced by using modern music to attract churchgoers.
