All businesses provide something to their community. This is often in the form of employment opportunities for community members, or the local availability of products, services, or goods.
There are also businesses that go well beyond these basic provisions. A good example of this is a new and innovative company in the Green Corridor area of Miami known as Ecotech Visions. Pandwe Gibson is the founder and President of Ecotech Visions, and she has created a company that gives back to the community on many different levels.
An Incubator and Maker Space
Through Ecotech, Pandwe has developed an opportunity for establishing start up businesses, and entrepreneurs to bring their dreams to life. The entire business is focused on developing green technology and manufacturing and provides the resources, facilities, training, and services that small businesses need not to just bring an idea to light, but to actually begin production and marketing.
Ecotech offers the option to join as a member at different levels or to use the facility on a “pay as you go” basis, which is a service that is valuable to any entrepreneur. With affordable pricing, a vast array of technology, professional services, and training opportunities, Ecotech Visions has already helped propel 75 green tech and manufacturing companies to success.
Giving Back
The entire EcoTech Visions building is also based on green energy and conservation of natural resources. With a vertical garden space, solar panels for energy and a range of community-based activities, it is rapidly becoming a central part of this area of the city.
In addition, the facility host events that help businesses to network with producers and B2B customers. EcoTech Visions also offers a free Digital Bootcamp, helping underserved people in blue-collar jobs gain the experience and education in technology to apply for better-paying technical careers.
